Pandas
In Pandas, we are following the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage and are working towards a good level of development across all areas. A significant amount of time will be spent developing each child’s personal, social and emotional development including self-awareness, self-confidence, well-being and building relationships.
The children enter Camelsdale exploring Discovery World in Panda Land!
encourage the children to drive their own learning and develop their independence, teamwork, resilience, perseverance, creativity and critical thinking
We are committed to deep level and sustained learning where children can follow their own interests whilst being supported with some activities set up for the children to learn new skills. Phonics, Literacy, Mathematics and Physical Development are planned and taught weekly guided by the children abilities and next steps in learning. Learning is shared with parents organically and at termly parent evenings. A weekly email is sent out to parents detailing the learning focus.
At the beginning of the school year, time is spent showing the children where the provision is and encouraging them to access it. We have a variety of creative resources, role play, technology, construction materials, writing and maths resources. We provide open ended resources inside and outside to encourage the children to drive their own learning and develop their independence, teamwork, resilience, perseverance, creativity and critical thinking. The children have access to the wider school grounds during playtimes and ‘Wild School’ sessions run throughout the year.
To support your child at home it would be great to read and share books together, encourage mark making, practice counting and recognising numbers at least to 10.
We are always happy to help and answer any questions you may have and welcome working with parents as we set the children on their way to “A flying start to a learning life”.
