International Links

We have been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of our work to bring the world into the classroom.

The International School Award celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the British Council’s work with schools, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need for life work in today’s world.

Spain

We have a very well established link with Jueces de Castilla International Primary School in Burgos, Spain. We teach Spanish throughout the school, and for over ten years have developed our school to school link to give real purpose to learning a language.

Year 6 enjoy a week long International School Journey to Burgos each May, whilst our Spanish friends visit us for a week in the spring term. On both occasions, the children stay with school families, experience school life and enjoy a range of visits and activities.

Spanish is taught throughout the school by a specialist teacher.

The school holds an International School Award.
