Mrs
Palmer Headteacher One of my greatest pleasures is to talk about life at Camelsdale First
School. I have the privilege of spending much of my time working in and for
the school. I know that it serves, and is served by, a community that values
learning, Our school is highly focussed on learning how to learn, with
everyone seeing themselves as learners - whatever their age! If you wish to
give your child "a flying start to a learning life" then I thoroughly
recommend our school to you. It's a school which sets high academic
standards in a context of a caring community and in a team environment of
fun and memorable experiences, Please do come and see for yourself. P. S. I have now been Head Learner for nearly
ten years at Camelsdale... and there's still plenty to learn
about!

Mrs Venton
School Bursar
I have worked at Camelsdale School for 23 years, and can genuinely
say I have enjoyed every day (otherwise I would not still be here!). The
job of Bursar has become much more involved over the years and I now
assist Mrs. Palmer with all matters of finance for the school from staff
salaries to buying pencils. I am a staff governor and serve on the
Resources and Health & Safety Committees. I am an ASA Swimming Teacher
and until last year I taught the children swimming at the Herons Pool,
but have now decided my work as Bursar takes up all my time, although I
am still the swimming co-ordinator and a keen interest in the children's
progress. |

Mrs Mitchell
School Secretary
I worked as the School's Receptionist here for 2 years before
becoming School Secretary earlier this year, but have been involved with
the school for 13 years. My three children attended here and are now at
MIS, MGS and Godalming College. I have been PTA Treasurer and Chair in
the past. I have a degree in Botany and specialised after that studying
diseases of plants. I have an interest in all "Outdoor Grounds" and I
enjoy reading in my spare time (!?), as well as being a committee member
of the PTA at MGS and School's Liaison Officer for Haslemere Rugby Club. |

Mrs Carter - Pandas (Reception)
I have taught at Camelsdale First School since 1995 and for nearly all
that time I have taught the very youngest of our pupils. Life is
never boring in a Reception Class! Over recent years I have taken a
particular interest in developing the idea of 'learning outdoors',
an innovation which has been both great fun and terrifically
worthwhile. Our children are fitter and healthier and simply ENJOY
doing much of their learning outside. I am also one of the schools
'E-Learning Managers' and have spearheaded the development of our
school Moodle. As a member of the Leadership Team I do my best to
help lead our whole 'learning community' here at Camelsdale and to
keep us always moving forward.
Mrs Carter has her own website, why not take a look:

I have been a professional teacher for more decades than I care to
remember, but still find there is always so much to learn!
I teach a Year 2 class and co-ordinate Special Needs, Able Pupils
and Literacy.
I am also glad to represent the teaching staff on the PTA, who do a
magnificent job.

When I'm not in school I'm usually up to my knees in mud looking
after my daughters horses. This photo was taken on a bad day as I'm
sure I should have long blonde hair and blue eyes. |

Mrs Robinson - Jaguars (Year 3)
Teaching is my fourth career. I qualified in 2003 and have been in
and out of teaching since that time. I first encountered Camelsdale
as a parent back in 2003 when Keir my eldest son started school,
since then Oscar has joined the school and Keir has left. I am now
very happily settled into the year 2/3 class at Camelsdale and love
teaching at this fantastic school, it is as good from the inside as
it is from the outside!

Being a Teaching Assistant certainly keeps me busy! I am also
the Co-ordinator for the school fruit and vegetable scheme, this is
proving a great success. When I have any free time I like to go
walking with my family. |

Mrs McNicol - Elephants (Year 5)
Teaching is my third career and one that I find extremely exciting
and rewarding. I have various responsibilities outside of the
classroom which include being Art and PE Subject Leader and School
Grounds Coordinator. We continue to develop our school grounds and
have recently installed new play equipment, an amphitheatre and
planted a variety of trees, flowers and bulbs. We are very proud of
our environmental area and appreciate the help of parents and PTA with
our twice yearly gatherings to clear and maintain this wonderful
asset.Click for CLASS INFO

I first became involved with the school in 1988 as a parent
helper when my son joined the playgroup. I have worked in Reception,
Year 1, 2 and now Year 4. I am currently in my final year of a
degree course at Portsmouth University. I am the Support Staff
Governor and sit on the Health, Safety and Premises, Development and
Business Partnership Committees. My interests include reading,
walking and watching football especially Midhurst! I enjoy working
with the children and love to see that 'light bulb' moment when
everything clicks! |

Mrs Dalton
Learning Support Assistant
After 10 years as a school secretary I changed course and trained
as a special needs support assistant at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia
Centre. During the year long course I was supported by Camelsdale
School. I then joined the staff as a Teaching Assistant. After five
years I joined the Special Needs Team, initially as a volunteer and
then as a member of staff. It gives me immense pleasure to see
children, who are struggling, gain confidence in literacy, numeracy
and subsequently their lives in general. My interests include flower
arranging, reading and helping to run a children's craft club. |
