The menu has downgraded. It is at the bottom of this page.

Marley Guardianship is Camelsdale School and the National Trust
working together in a Partnership.

Year 5 are entrusted to act as Guardians on behalf of the National Trust - to learn about and to look after Marley Common. They visit the common with the warden throughout the year to do this. At the end of the year, they ceremoniously hand over the Guardianship to the new Year 5 children. This forms part of our Citizenship learning.

  • It involves pupils and teachers working with property staff to learn more about Marley Common and the conservation work of the National Trust.

  • It is an opportunity for pupils to become familiar with their "local" environment, in order to value and cherish it for the future.

  • Themes include education for sustainable development and environmental education.
