Queen Elizabeth II 1952 - 2002

Camelsdale School commemorated the Golden Jubilee with a number of events during the summer term. We thought that you might like to see how we celebrated this special year. 

The Jubilee maze was completed and officially opened.

Jubilee Diary

Sunday 26th May - The PTA organised a Treasure Hunt and Barbeque 

Monday 27th May - Juniors visit to London. Visit the London page for pictures and more details.

Tuesday 28th May - Infant children took a Jubilee Special Steam Train ride on the Watercress Line. Visit the Watercress page for pictures and more details

Thursday 30th May  - The Chair of the PTA presented the children with their specially minted Golden Jubilee Medals.

Friday 31st May -  A tea party was held in the school playground.  
Fernhurst Parish Council presented each child with a commemorative spoon.
Then the children watched a magic and Punch and Judy Show. 
This was followed by a tea party in the Playground.

July 2nd, 3rd and 4th - Junior Jubilee Camp

         

 

Following the success of the Millennium camp, held in June 2000, a Jubilee Camp for all Junior children, took place in the school grounds. In spite of the damp conditions it was enjoyed by all.
