Camelsdale school has seen many changes in its 100 years.
The original building is still there, but there have been numerous
additions to it. First more classrooms and then the hall in the 1960's.
The building work is set to continue into the 21st Century with the
addition of our Early Years classrooms, more details below.
This is how the school looked just after it was built.

This
photograph, which was turned into a postcard, was taken in 1909.
The original church can be seen marked with a cross in the background.
This is how the school looks today.

This photograph was taken in 2003.
The roof of the new St. Paul's Church is visible on the far left.
Here is an aerial view of the school taken in 1992.

The photograph shows the swimming pool and the two hutted
classrooms. The oldest, hidden in the trees, was until
recently being used as a class base and is now a music studio. The
swimming pool has disappeared and been
replaced by our Millennium Courtyard Garden.
Towards the end of 2003 the school received the exciting
news that we would finally be having the hutted classrooms replaced.
Coincidently the building work was to take place during the School's
Centenary Year.
There are also plans to convert the Air Raid Shelter into proper changing
facilities for our sports teams.
This is a separate project, but will hopefully take place alongside the
new building work.
This is how the school will look once the new building is completed.

This is the architects impression of how the school will
look on completion of the proposed new building work.
The area coloured in pink is the new building, consisting of two new
classrooms to replace the temporary hutted ones.
There will also be a new staffroom, special needs room and group room
along with additional storage space.
Other rooms within the school, including the Headteachers office and the
Admin office will be relocated and reorganised.
This work is due for completion in May 2005.
